Sculptra (with the main ingredient poly-L-lactic acid) is an injectable preparation to restore lost skin volume, stimulate collagen production and fight signs of skin aging. Sculptra is used in aesthetic medicine to rejuvenate the face, correct age-related changes and restore skin volume lost due to aging or weight loss. This preparation stimulates natural skin regeneration processes, improves skin structure and elasticity.
Sculptra was developed and manufactured by Ipsen (France), a world leader in the field of biopharmaceuticals and aesthetic medicine. Sculptra is used in more than 40 countries around the world and has established itself as a safe and effective means of combating age-related skin changes.
Composition. Method of use.
Composition:
The main ingredient of Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) – a synthetic polymer used to stimulate collagen production in the skin. The preparation also contains excipients such as water for injection and mannitol, which help to achieve the correct consistency for injection. Sculptra is biocompatible, which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions.
Methods of application:
The preparation is introduced by injections into the subcutaneous tissue. The treatment is performed by a qualified specialist, usually a dermatologist or plastic surgeon, in a medical facility.
The main steps of the treatment:
Skin preparation — the area to be treated is cleaned and disinfected.
Injections — Sculptra is injected with a needle or cannula into the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. The preparation is administered at several points on the face, neck, décolleté or other parts of the body where volume needs to be restored.
Massage — After injections, the doctor may recommend a gentle massage of the treated areas to evenly distribute the preparation.
For optimal results, multiple treatments are usually required, most often 2 to 3 sessions at intervals of 4-6 weeks. The effect of Sculptra occurs gradually as collagen is produced over time and can last up to 2 years.
The benefits of using Sculptra are a natural and long-lasting effect. The preparation is suitable for correcting deep wrinkles, restoring volume in the cheeks, chin, cheekbones and for lifting and tightening the skin as a whole.
